Lithotripsy Kidney Stone Treatment Video

This 9 minute video not only shows what a kidney stone looks like inside the body, but also how doctors use extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy to remove it. It is a combination of actual video and excellent drawings that demonstrate why kidney stones can be so painful and need to be removed.

This video is produced by the California Wellness Institute, and is narrated by Dr. Eugene Rajaratnam. He describes the equipment specifically. Viewers who are going to have shockwave lithotripsy will become familiar with the appearance of the equipment and progression of the procedure. It also shows before-and-after pictures of the stone.
